Crikey names Jason Whittaker editor and Marina Go as publisher
Crikey’s new editor is Jason Whittaker while veteran journalist Marina Go has joined as publisher, the company has announced.
Crikey said that Whittaker, currently deputy editor, will step up next month when editor Sophie Black takes maternity leave.
Meanwhile Go has left Independent Digital Media – publisher of Primped, The Knot, Younger You and Homehound – after four years. She has held senior editorial roles at most of Australia’s major magaizne publishers including ACP, Pacific Magaines, Fairfax media and Hachette Filipacchi.
Go takes the publisher role from Eric Beecher who is also chairman of parent company Private Media.
In the announcement Eric Beecher said: “Sophie has put an edgy, thoughtful mark on Crikey during her editorship. She is a fine leader and a seriously good editorial practitioner. We look forward to welcoming her back after she starts her new career in motherhood.”
Tim Burrowes founded Mumbrella in 2008. He worked on Mumbrella until 2021. At various points he was editor, content director and editor-at-large.
