Cummins & Partners have confirmed it has hired former Naked Melbourne managing director Tom Ward to head up its Melbourne office.

Mumbrella reported last week Ward had been linked to a move to the agency, reuniting him with his former boss Adam Ferrier, after departing Naked in March amid a huge internal restructure of the management of the agency.

“In our rapidly-changing industry, Tom’s experience at some of the best agencies in the world is highly valued. He’s strategically-minded, creatively-driven, and will be a great fit with our business,” said Chris Jeffares, national CEO at Cummins&Partners.

“Tom’s experience across media, strategy, insights and creative – both traditional and new – was extremely important to us. We wanted someone that understands where the industry is heading, in terms of both creative and media.”

Respected planner Ward joined the agency in March 2013 after nearly three years with GPY&R Melbourne as head of strategy and insight and has previously held account management roles with Clemenger BBDO, TBWA\London and St Lukes.

Ward said in a statement: “I’ve worked with a few members of the leadership team at Cummins & Partners and jumped at the chance to work with them again. They are elite talent, with a great ‘joined up’ business model, and have blazed a trail in the last few years.

“I’m looking forward to help lead the charge as we move into the next stage. I can’t wait to get cracking.”
