DDB says ‘take the Golf’ in new VW ad
Creative agency DDB have created a new ad for VW championing the respect consumer have for the Golf.
The 45-second TVC is part of the “Why drive anything else?” campaign run by the agency. The campaign will include TV, cinema, digital, print and outdoor and will include the silo on Sydney’s Anzac Bridge.
Throughout the ad, children fight over which one gets to pick the VW Golf in a video game, a divorce hearing where the woman takes custody of the car and a cricket game where a ball smashes through the window.
Dylan Harrison, DDB Sydney executive creative director, said: “This ad is about showing that regardless of how different Australians can be, they all have one thing in common, they instinctively choose quality every time.”
‘Take the golf’ …. ‘bought a Jeep’….

If only the jeep ads were this well written and this well shot.

@Kurt (who prbably works at DDB)
I think the jeep ads are pretty well shot and pretty well written.
And idea wise are pretty good.
And that’s really the point. This ad is too close to the much longer Jeep campaign for mine.
But best regards to the other Von Trapps anyway

Are you serious??? Those Jeep ads are an adapt from overseas, and the idea is TERRIBLE. “She bought a Jeep? She bought a Jeep!” They’re produced fairly well in Australia but I still pity the poor agency that has to work on them. Not to mention that sting on the end…
