DMG launches online network as DMG Digital

DMG Radio Australia has launched new industry brand DMG Digital with a widened online and mobile offering.   

As well as representing the digital properties build around Nova’s radio brands of Nova, Koffee, Novanation, 5AA and Star FM, DMG Digital will also be representing the UK’s mailonline which recently claimed the number one spot as the most read online English language newspaper globally. The Daily Mail’s owner is a a 50% owner of DMG Radio Australia.

The launch of DMG Digital coincides with the move of the company’s radio sites onto a more robust platform.

Also added to the network is celebrity news site mrpaparazzi.

DMG Digital will be targeting mobile users. DMG chief digital officer Rebekah Horne said: “With Australians boasting the second highest smartphone penetration in the world migrating to a mobile and multiplatform model is key.”

The company now offers a series of apps around its radio brands which include live and catch up streaming.

Cathy O’Connor, CEO of DMG Radio, said in a press release: “The launch of dmg digital sees dmg taking on a truly innovative multiplatform distribution model. Surrounding our audiences on-air, online and on mobile, dmg’s radio brands remain critical as they provide our audiences with relevance, context, connection and community in an increasingly fluid content environment.”
