eBay kicks off Christmas campaign

eBay Australia has kicked off it’s 2013 Christmas campaign targeting mums struggling to find the perfect Christmas present for their children, in its first locally produced campaign in over five years.

The ‘Know what they like, what they love’ campaign, created by Havas Worldwide Sydney which won the work in a pitch against the auction site’s lead agency Leo Burnett, features two mums – Usain Bolt’s mother, Jennifer; and Jeni Bonell, mother to 15 children – who find it hard to find the perfect presents for their kids.

Steve Brennen, eBay’s senior director of marketing and advertising sales said: “Christmas is always a frantic time for Australians, particularly mums who tend to be the primary gift buyers. We reached out to mums around Australia to ask them what they look for in the perfect gift and overwhelmingly they told us that the best gifts are those that are unique, personal and with a connection.”

Consumers are also able to visit a dedicated Christmas website, www.xmas.ebay.com.au, to see top keyword searches and suggested products to find inspiration.
