Edelman handed Audi Australia account

Edelman_LogoEdelman has been appointed Audi Australia’s PR agency of record with a remit to increase the automotive brand’s local awareness.

Edelman will work across Audi’s lifestyle and sponsorship portfolio, including its involvement in the arts, film and sporting events. It will also support Audi Australia’s in-house team on media strategy for local product launches and brand experiences.

It is understood there was not a competitive pitch.

“Audi is a consistently growing brand in the Australian market, with clear strategic plans to reach and overtake its main competitors in the medium term,” Audi Australia general manager corporate communications Anna Burgdorf said.

“Part of the continued growth of Audi is to generate higher brand awareness through earned media coverage and through its extensive sponsorship and event portfolio.”

Edelman Australia director of consumer Fern Canning, who worked with Audi in the UK for Wardman Communications, said: “We will be bringing our brand and sponsorship expertise to this important new client, and we’re looking forward to developing creative campaigns, working with our digital and production teams for up-coming Australian launches.”
