Flabby Kyle Sandilands: The lost Mix FM ad surfaces
The internet can provide everything. And that includes the legendary lost Mix FM anti Kyle Sandilands ad.
Here, in all its glory, is the ad for Mix FM from four years ago taking the mickey out of the man who looks like he’s about to be presenting the station’s breakfast show…
(Turns out it was on YouTube all along, if you knew where to look).
At the time Mike E and Carmela (remember them?) were about to take on the Mix FM breakfast show.
Dr Mumbo wonders which of the key phrases will make it into next year’s marketing campaign. Obviously “Up yourself, full of crap and past it” might not resonate entirely with the target audience. But then again, “Over the hill”, while not entirely inaccurate, doesn’t quite strike the right tone. And neither does “It’s never too late to get rid of flabby DJ’s”.
At least “Did I upset you? Like I care. Who else are you gonna listen to?”, has a ring of truth, albeit not an entirely positive one.
Still, at least one line still works: “Make a change from Today”.
And nobody will be able to say later that Mix didn’t know what they were getting themselves into…
I should point out that Mix’s ad was a parody of the Federal Government’s “Measure Up” ad – http://youtu.be/UWTlHqca5AM
