Footy Show arm break watched by 435,000 as Todd Sampson’s Redesign My Brain finale rises

The finale episode of Leo Burnett CEO Todd Sampson’s Redesign My Brain, which saw the adman complete a skywalk across a 3cm capable suspended between two buildings 21 floors high, was watched by 682,000 metro viewers at 8.30pm on the ABC.

While it was down on the finale of last year’s season, which grabbed 874,000 viewers, it was the show’s best performance this year, up on the debut audience of 675,000 and last week’s audience of 626,000.

Meanwhile, 435,000 people in Sydney and Brisbane tuned into The Footy Show which was forced to throw to a hasty commercial break when Ben Ross broke his arm on live TV during a charity arm wrestling contest with Wendell Sailor.

The AFL version in Melbourne, Adelaide and Perth got 115,000 viewers from 8.40pm, taking total viewership to 650,000.

Ten claimed a second place audience share of 17.1 per cent, behind Nine’s share of 19.2 per cent and ahead of Seven’s share of 16.4 per cent, thanks to Masterchef which was the most-watched show of the evening .

When secondary channels are accounted for, Seven claimed second place with an audience share of 25.5 per cent, ahead of Ten’s total share of 22.5 per cent.

Ten’s cooking reality show grabbed 1.118m metro viewers and was the most-watched show across the key advertising demographics (16-39, 18-49 and 25-54).

It easily out-rated Nine’s Top Gear which managed an audience of 475,000 in the 7.30pm timeslot.

Seven’s two-hour Home and Away episode, airing from 7pm to 9pm, pulled an audience of 727,000 metro viewers.

Meanwhile on the ABC, The Checkout, which is facing a lawsuit from A2 Milk, grabbed an audience of 658,000 at 8pm, the same number of viewers it pulled last week.

On Ten at 8.30pm Law & Order SVU was watched by 507,000, while The Footy Show, on Nine from 8.40pm, had an audience of 650,000.

In news, Nine News at 6pm was watched by 1.084m, dipping to 1.035m from 6.30pm. Seven News at 6pm grabbed 1.023m viewers, dropping to 930,000 at 6.30pm.
