Fran Foo joins Media & Capital Partners

Fran Foo has joined PR and investor relations agency Media & Capital Partners as its newest Sydney-based director.

The announcement:

One of Australia’s leading technology and business journalists Fran Foo has joined booming PR and investor relations agency Media & Capital Partners as its newest Sydney-based Director.

Ms Foo, an award-winning journalist with 20 years’ experience covering business IT, will spearhead a client portfolio of technology start-ups and emerging businesses. She’ll work alongside a number of high-profile former journalists, including Justin Kelly, former Nine Newsroom Chief of Staff and Macquarie Radio News Director. The company’s senior management team of David Greer, an ex-Macquarie Bank executive, and investor relations specialist and Media & Capital Partners Chairman Jonathan Younger, is also headquartered in Sydney.

David Greer, CEO of Media & Capital Partners, said, “our focus on delivering high quality media and corporate advisory services for clients has seen us have a huge first year since we opened our doors in April 2014. Not only has this approach allowed us to work with some really exciting brands, like Airtasker, Stackla and Pureprofile, but it’s also led to us attracting some extremely high calibre staff members. The appointment of Fran Foo is testament to the fact that we’re a thriving company that employees are excited to be a part of.”

“The opportunity to be part of a rapidly growing company like Media & Capital Partners is extremely exciting. I look forward to working with technology startups in helping them realise their goals both in Australia and overseas,” Ms Foo said.

Media & Capital Partners has also announced the near-term opening of an office in San Francisco. Initially designed to assist the agency’s entrepreneurial Australian clients gain traction amongst US investors and consumers, the new office adds weight to Media & Capital Partners’ goal of becoming the ‘go-to’ media partner for emerging technology companies.

With many of our PR and capital-raising clients setting their sights on expansion in the US, it felt like a great time to proceed with opening an office in the tech-hub of San Francisco. By having a permanent base in the US, we can now partner with our clients to provide them with the profile and capital to progress from startup to global success,” said Mr Greer.

Media & Capital Partners’ new office in San Francisco will be established by Rachael Cassidy, whose background in broadcast journalism includes a senior role at Seven Network and News Director at Macquarie Radio Network.

“Rachael has proven herself to be an exceptional strategic media practitioner. She’s been a driving force in the Sydney office, and we’re confident the upcoming San Francisco office will be in great hands with Rachael at the helm,” said Mr Greer.

The company’s Melbourne office, which opened at the beginning of this year is managed by award-winning former Fairfax Technology Editor Asher Moses. He is supported by Harrison Polites, who joined Media & Capital Partners from Business Spectator and Melissa Mack, former Money Editor of The New Daily.
