Game of Thrones star Natalie Dormer fronts Contiki Holidays campaign
Game of Thrones star Natalie Dormer has become the face of Contiki Holidays legends campaign in which the actress recounts a story from a past Contiki traveller.
The youth holiday brand recently invited past guests to submit their most memorable stories from their holiday, the best of which have been given creative treatment by artists around the world.
One story has been immortalised on an album cover created by ARIA award-winning artist, Debaser, another formed the basis of a surfboard design by surfboard artist, Caspian de Looze, while tattoo artist Jimmy Memento has created a permanent body art piece.
The winning submission has been recounted by British actress Dormer. In the video, Dormer tells the story of a young blind woman who leads her fellow travellers through the cobblestoned streets of Rome to the hotel, simply by using her other senses.
“I really wanted to do this Contiki project as there’s a little bit of nostalgia there,” Dormer said. “I was last here in Rome when I was 18 doing the gap-year backpack thing and I really wish I had known about Contiki at the time, because I would have been straight on one of their holidays!”
Contiki managing director Katrina Barry said Dormer, star of Game of Thrones, The Tudors and who will appear in the forthcoming movie Hunger Games: Mockingjay, is quickly becoming a household name amongst Contiki’s 18-35 demographic.
“Natalie is a great fit for #ContikiLegends. Her youthful demeanor and passion for life perfectly reflect the Contiki brand and we’re thrilled to have her retell this authentic story, inspiring others to travel when they’re young,” Barry said.
Contiki also put together behind the scenes footage which includes Dormer surprising a group of Contiki travellers on a trip. Contiki worked with digital agency Holler on the legends campaign.

like the strategy of ‘creating the world’s best storytellers’ but tonally this feels way way off…this feels way too high brow for every 20 something i know and the brand is boxing itself into a corner with this type of storytelling that feels overly worthy. collecting great stories and memories is the category truth for young travel, so there’s nothing really different here in my view.

She is super hot. Souped up hotness. White hot. Is that politically correct? I don’t care.

I kept waiting for the “and then she chundered all over my shoes” punchline.
