GlaxoSmithKline consolidates media into Maxus

GlaxoSmithKline has consolidated its Australia and New Zealand media account into incumbent Maxus after a review that sees Naked moved off the business.

The GroupM agency has handled the GSK business for a decade. Naked inherited the account from Bellamyhayden after the two agencies were merged by owner Photon in September 2010.

A statement from the drugs company read:

The agency review was the result of a change in GSK Global Corporate media strategy including consolidating media planning/buying and bringing its Australia and New Zealand business operations closer. Maxus underwent a review process late last year and subsequently have been awarded the combined media supply account.

GSK wishes to thank Naked particularly acknowledging the professionalism and the quality of the work of the Naked team. GSK will work with Maxus and Naked to transition media planning arrangements to Maxus by the
end of March.
