“Gogglebox continues to shed audiences” – interesting headline. This is the first drop in overnight audiences for the program since Feb 19. It has been gaining audiences week on week for the past fortnight.

Thanks for flagging Nak.
We’ve adjusted the headline.

Hi Jacqui,
On Wednesday evening it had 120,000 on The LifeStyle Channel (https://mumbrella.com.au/sevens-winter-audience-stabilises-as-nines-forever-continues-to-slip-280863)

Gogglebox beat the Footy Show? The Footy Show was only in Brisbane and Sydney, Gogglebox was national, so of course it did when you compare a national audience number to one in 2 markets. How about a fair comparison?

Is it the broadcaster? Is it the content? Is it this? Is it that?
Fragmentation and short attention spans will result in many a series tanking, when ‘years ago’ it would have stayed the course.
What about an initial blast on mainstream free to air and then the rest is delivered, on demand, on the net?
Oh, ad revenue? Is that why?

Headline is unnecessarily dramatic. Pretty obvious it would drop a little, given that it’s moving into a more competitive timeslot – direct competition with MKR etc. Looks to me as though Googlebox is a solid performer. Noticed it was a actually trending higher than MKR last night.

Gogglebox not Googlebox! Anyone else having this problem?
