Guvera general manager Scott Hamilton let go following restructure

Scott HamiltonMusic streaming site Guvera has let go of general manager Scott Hamilton following a restructure.

Hamilton had worked with the company since January 2013 and has not been replaced, Mumbrella understands. The move is the latest shake up in the world of music streaming with Southern Cross Austereo and partners confirming the Songl app was being ditched on Monday, and Deezer shutting its Australian office in February.

A Guvera spokesperson told Mumbrella: “Due to a restructure in Guvera’s global operations, the role of General Manager Australia was no longer required. Australian operations continue to be overseen by Guvera CEO, Darren Herft. No further roles at Guvera have been impacted by this restructure.“Guvera would like to thank Scott for his contribution to the business and wish him the very best in the next phase of his career.”

SpotifyPandora, and iTunes Radio continue to battle it out with local providers including Telstra’s MogIHeartRadio from ARN and JB Hi-Fi’s own offering. Telstra is also understood to be in negotiations to get the Beats platform off the ground in Australia.
