Hamish and Andy rate 1.338m as ABC1′s Devil’s Dust rates 679,000
Hamish & Andy made a strong return for Nine with Caravan of Courage: : Australia v New Zealand rating an average of 1.338m on Sunday night.
The 90 minutes special which aired from 6.30pm was also the most popular of the night across the three key advertising demographics of 16-39, 18-49 and 25-54, according to preliminary overnight metro ratings from OzTAM.
Hamish and Andy’s Caravan of Courage: Australia v New Zealand follows a similar format to the pair’s previous European and American specials on Ten in 2010 and 2009, and their Gap Year format for Nine from earlier this year.
Seven’s Sunday Night rated 1.028m, across Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Adelaide. Seven’s programming in Perth followed a different schedule because of Telethon 2012 which aired across the weekend. Sunday’s Telethon coverage averaged 231,000 across the day for Seven Perth.
Border Security – Australia’s Front Line rated 839,000 and eighth for the night across the four other capital cities.
Fremantle Media’s two-part mini-series Devil’s Dust for ABC1, directed by Jessica Hobbs, rated 679,000 and 15th in total viewers. The mini-series follows four men during the James Hardie asbestos court case, including the late Bernie Banton and ABC journalist Matt Peacock.
A repeat of Ten’s Modern Family was the network’s highest rating show, rating 811,000 and ninth for the night, followed by Homeland on 739,000 and a new episode of Modern Family rating 706,000.
Nine’s coverage of the first cricket test between Australia and South Africa averaged 809,000 in its second session of the day, while the first session rated 558,000.
