Hamish & Andy’s Caravan of Courage rates big
Speculation that Hamish & Andy will make a switch to TV when their contract expires with Austereo’s Today Network is bound to increase after the outstanding ratings debut performance of Caravan Of Courage on Thursday night.
The show pulled in more than 1.7m viewers – beaten only by fellow Ten show Masterchef. It also won the 16-39 and 18-49 demos outright, accoridng to preliminary overnight metro ratings from OzTam.
The performance of the show – featuring the pair’s adventures in Europe – confirms the comments of Ten programming boss David Mott, who recently quipped that viewers would tune in to hear the duo reading out a phone directory.
Ten had an easy – and relatively unusual win for the night.

Why Ten doesn’t put these guys on 7pm every night and can Hughesy and gang is beyond me. H&A could rate 1.5m nightly and smash the other H&A and 2 and a 1/2 out of the park.

Have to admit I watched this last night and thought it was one of the funniest shows of the year. Their style is brilliant. Didn’t want the show to end. Take the caravan around Asia please….

I love H&A but they can’t move to television. If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it. Just like when they moved MMM show ‘The Shebang’ to mornings, it was a disaster.
They are the only decent pair on the radio, I’ll tear my stereo system out of car if they leave.
