Harris Farm Markets pitches creative account after parting ways with Workshop
Harris Farm Markets is on the hunt for a new creative agency after mutually parting ways with incumbent of five years Workshop, Mumbrella can reveal.
The company confirmed its creative account was in play, with a spokesperson telling Mumbrella: “Given dramatic marketplace changes over that time, Harris Farm Markets are taking the opportunity to review our communications needs and a list of selected agencies have already entered into the first round of a pitch process.”
Harris Farm Markets declined to divulge the agencies participating in the pitch.

I like Harris Farm. From a marketing perspective I think they have done extremely well. It would be interesting to see how much stock in Harris Farm is also stocked in Coles / Woolies and say IGA. The price seems to be sky high in Harris and whilst some stuff does appear to be great, other things like some of the chicken fillets seems very average.
Has the marketing look and feel of the stores blinded the consumer from the fact that the produce is the same old produce, however pumped up in price?
(I am not saying it is, I am asking…)

Surely media pitch will follow given the structure of relationship then?

@ Harris Marris, where do you live that Harris Farm has “sky high”? I find Harris Farm cheaper than Coles or the local fruit/veg shop and substantially better quality than the crap they flog at Coles/Woolies!

tube of imported tomatoe paste on “special” at Coles $2.39 and $1.99 at HF as standard
they would increase their footfall and resultant sales if they simply strategically went: You’ll pay less than Coles or Woollies
I’m also reliably told that their are 2 owners of HF now – the original family and some chinese investors, so perhaps therein lies the price differentials
however, whilst the produce is predominantly better, fresher and cheaper, I beiieve they still store product in nitrogen gas like the majors (the reason your fruit goes off in he car on the way home)

@G I live in Manly
@Broadway. One tube of ‘tomatoe’ paste? I will certainly give you the benefit of the doubt, until I can prove otherwise, which I shall now set out to do.
Are apples in Harris Farm totally fresh, or are they kept in atmospheric storage like with Woolies and Coles..? What about other fresh foods? If they are kept in ‘storage’ then is the word ‘farm’ in Harris Farm misleading?
The presentation in store does seem to emulate a market v a modern day ‘super’market and this is the facade that certainly (in Manly), seems to tempt the yummy mummies, hipsters and groovy cats, as well as a few boring people (like me) who enjoy the experience and then whinge on forums like Mumbrella about HF being more expensive…..
Watch this space and I will certainly continue to shop at Harris (Farm), for me it is the experience. (I can even take my goods home in a box and recycle the box, which is good and easier than carrying multiple bags…)

Aurora Coffee cheaper in HF v Woolies…
Lurpack 100gms butter cheaper at HF v Woolies
Abbott’s Bakery Rustic White cheaper HF v Woolies
Now that was a quick look and online. I will look in HF Manly next time I am there and see. I will always stand corrected.
Cheers, Boring.
