Nine Network press announcement:

MORE MADNESS AND MAYHEM

ON HEY HEY IT’S SATURDAY

TONIGHT AT 7.30pm

It will be one big party when Daryl and gang team up for Hey Hey It’s Saturday tonight at 7.30pm.

Who knows what could happen on the night, after all it’s two hours of live television with no script.

There’ll be plenty more weird party tricks this week with the winner of the competition flying to London for the premiere of Knight and Day and walking the red carpet with the stars of the action flick, Tom Cruise and Cameron Diaz.

There’ll be plenty of laughs when funnymen Trevor Marmalade and Akmal Saleh drop in for Joking Off.

And Russell Gilbert takes off a well known television commercial.

Plus, what did Plucka Duck, Suze Raymond and Danny Clayton get up to at my fun theme parks on the Gold Coast?

And one of Australia’s favourite rock legends Glenn Shorrock, who is on the road with his national tour, Celebrating 45 Years of Song, will jam with the Hey Hey band and judge some bizarre Red Faces.

Tamsin Carroll and Deni Hines perform a medley from the hit stage musical Dusty – the story of 60s pop diva Dusty Springfield.

Melbourne rock band British India will treat viewers to their new single Avalanche live in the studio. The band have been busy touring Australia since their latest album debuted in the top ten on the ARIA charts and are gearing up to play the Splendour in the Grass Music Festival at the end of the month.

The entertainment continues with fellow Melbourne muso, Michael Paynter who will perform his new single Love the Fall.

    Ouch.

  10. Don’t shoot the author of the press release. They have to work with what they’ve got…

    Cheers,

  16. I wouldn’t shoot the author but I’d suggest that they probably shouldn’t begin sentences with conjunctions. Maybe I’m just a little old fashioned but this reads to me like it was written by someone who is about fifteen.

  18. Hmmmm

Can this show get any more
Embarrassing for all the hard working and legitimate Participants in good quality Australian television?

I’ll take you up on the Kylie shot game.

  20. Sorry, I’ve obviously missed the point, but can you specify what is wrong with this?

  22. Well, NonMediaReleaseWriter, lets start with the fact that it isn’t a press release.

A press release is meant to feature news that someone would choose to air or publish. This does nothing. Where’s the angle? Where’s the hook?

    And it is almost unreadable.

If a PR agency served me this up for approval as their client, I’d fire them on the spot

  24. Again, I’d defend the press release writer. Their job is to promote tonight’s show. They’ve got to work with what they’ve got in front of them. Which ain’t much.

    Cheers,

    Tim – Mumbrella

  28. The Gruen should cover Australia’s ageing population of TV viewers and the impact this is obviously having on programming. Yawn! Give us edgy not cheezy.
