Bondi Hipster, marketer, TV executive, branded entertainment boss and blogger talent agent feature on final BEfest panel

christiaan van vuuren soul matesThe speakers have today been announced for the final session of next week’s BEfest festival of content marketing and branded entertainment.

The five speakers include a film maker, a senior marketer, the head of integration at Australia’s biggest TV company, a branded entertainment expert and a blogger talent agent.

The panelists for the final session include film maker and writer Christiaan van Vuuren, who is best known for his role in the viral Bondi Hipsters series. Van Vuuren, who also directs commercials, was last month profiled on Australian Story. And his comedy project Soul Mates, created along with brother Connor van Vuuren and fellow Bondi Hipster Nick Boshier goes to air on ABC2 on October 23.

Also on the panel is Paula Parkes who leads digital marketing across APAC for Adobe’s digital marketing solutions division. Parkes previously managed a multi million dollar marketing budget for SAS Australia and New Zealand.

Joining Parkes is Simon Joyce, in one of his first public roles since taking the helm of Brand New Media. Brand New Media is one of Australia’s longest established players in the TV and online branded content space. Joyce was previously CEO of MCM Entertainment.

Nine Entertainment Co’s director of content and brand integration Lizzie Young will also be on the panel Young is responsible for delivering brand integration on the company’s premium properties such as The Voice, The Block and Big Brother. She also works with brands looking to develop their own content and transmedia.

Young previously led brand integration at Austereo and prior to that did a similar role at the UK’s biggest radio group GCap media.

The fifth speaker on the panel is Lorraine Murphy, who is founder of Australia’s first  blogger talent agency The Remarkables. The agency helps brands work with some of Australia’s mst influential bloggers. Murphy previously worked at strategy agencies including Bellamy Hayden and Naked.

The Question Time panel – designed to span BEfest’s two streams of content marketing and branded entertainment – will be moderated by Mumbrella’s Tim Burrowes.

BEfest takes place next Wednesday and Thursday, with an industry networking afternoon on October 8, and the conference on October 9.

Sessions include panels on how to develop a content strategy, how to execute a content marketing plan, how to distribute branded content and how to measure the ROI of content marketing.

The keynote will come from one of the world’s branded entertainment pioneers Nick Worthington, ECD of Colenso BBDO Auckland.

Major media players presenting include a native advertising panel featuring The Guardian, Mamamia, Fairfax Media and Sound Alliance, along with a TV panel featuring work which branded work which aired on Nine, Seven and Foxtel.
