Home & Away beats Big Brother, Ten’s most watched show draws 694,000

Home & Away: Thursday's top non-news show

Big Brother was beaten in its time slot by Seven stalwart Home & Away last night, although the Nine reality show dominated the key advertising demographics.

Big Brother, which aired at 7pm, pulled in 920,000 ranking sixth for the night, down from 976,000 last week.

But the show, and later spin-off program Big Brother Confidential, which aired at 8pm, topped the 16-39, 18-49 and 25-54 demos.

Home & Away rated with 932,000.

The night was won by Seven News, which rated with 1.188m, followed by Nine News, Today Tonight and ABC News – the only shows to pass the million mark.

Ten had another poor Thursday night. Its most watched show was Ten News At Five with 694,000 viewers, ranking 14th for the night.

Only three Ten shows, including The Project and a repeat of Modern Family, made the top 20.

Ten claimed 10.4% channel share for the night, behind ABC1’s 13.8%.

Nine won the night with 21.3%, just ahead of Seven with 21%.
