Hooroo hunts for best kept travel secrets in Facebook campaign
Qantas-backed social media travel site Hooroo has launched a Facebook campaign to find the off-the-beaten-track travel secrets of Australians.
A panel of travel and lifestyle experts will shortlist the entries, with the top 40 being put to the public vote during phase two of the campaign, from 13 – 28 November.
The final phase will reveal Australia’s top five ‘Secret Spots’ in January next year.
The top five winners will feature in a national Hooroo PR campaign and receive travel prizes up to the value of $14,500.
Head of marketing, Lija Wilson said: “Every traveller has a beloved and unique Australian travel destination and experience that they have discovered – whether its a historic pub that serves the best Sunday roast or a winding coastal walk with sparkling views. That is why we launching the ‘Secret Spots’ campaign that centres purely on the nation telling us what the best ‘in the know’ experiences. From there, we will be able to officially unveil the top five ‘Secret Spots’ in Australia, as voted by the public.”
Hooroo launched in July this year.
Not the most interactive campaign, should be interesting to see what the #1 destination is!

I really like what these guys are doing in travel. its nice to see someone doing something in Pinterst locally in travel besides the Tourism Authorities and they are doing a good job on sucking me in with their FB posts rather than ‘like this if you want a holiday’.
