Ten’s I Will Survive took its final bow last night with contestant Michael Snell winning the Broadway competition.
Based on Australian film The Adventures of Priscilla: Queen of the Desert, the show has suffered from low ratings – which have ranged between 400,000 and 300,000 viewers – and been shifted around Ten’s schedule.
Last night, the show rated 321,000 and ranked 32nd in total viewers in its 7.30pm time slot, according to preliminary ratings from OzTam.
The show faired better in the demographics placing 28th in 16-39, 24th in 18-49 and 27th in 25-54.
Snell has since gone on to be cast as Kyle, the UPS Guy in musical Legally Blonde at Sydney’s Lyric Theatre.
The show was fourth in its time slot, just ahead of SBS’s Who Do you Think You Are? on 305,000.
The show debuted for Ten with 506,000 average viewers on August 21.
Winning the 7.30 time slot, and the entire night in total viewers was The X Factor, rating 1.441m.
The X Factor was also the top show across the key advertising demographics for its time slot, but not for the entire night.
A new episode of The Big Bang Theory at 8.30pm was the top show, while Seven’s Winners and Losers was third across all three placing second behind Nine’s Big Bang Theory in all three.
In the battle for breakfast television, Nine’s Today beat Seven’s Sunrise, 360,000 to 353,000 while Ten’s Breakfast rated 47,000.
In channel share Seven won the night on 25.3%, beating out Nine on 20.8%. ABC1 was 12.7% in third place followed by Ten’s 11.7%. SBS1 was fifth with 4.6% share.

gee thanks. For weeks I have managed to watch the repeat of I will survive on Saturday without encountering any spoilers. To come so far and now have it ruined for me… can’t read this website any longer! thanks a lot…

when something is broadcast twice a week you could be sensitive to viewers. The viewing environment has changed and shows are often repeated to a different audience in the same week. The Australian ran a similar ratings story to yours but without photos or mention of the winner. Stories on your website are generally about ratings or media issues – not announcements and photos of who won the latest reality show. Why you did it in this case i have no idea. I will survive was not a high rating show worthy of such attention – i read mainstream media widely and have not read the announcement elsewhere. Your website, your choice, but it’s not for me anymore.
