IKEA highlights lowered prices with shouting dad and screaming customers
A new IKEA ad, featuring a father who shouts in front of his sleeping baby, aims to highlight the furniture giant’s lowered prices on popular products.
Debuting last night on both Ten and Seven, the TV ad precedes the 2013 Ikea catalogue’s delivery to mailboxes from today.
Created by The Monkeys, the TVC opens with the father shouting over his sleeping baby, before revealing he’s been deafened by screaming IKEA customers, shocked at the news of lowered prices.
The TVC is supported by digital, social, PR as well as the catalogue, which will carry additional content such as videos, image galleries and 3D models using free IKEA app.

The association of the brand with screams shattering the silence of a peaceful home is something Ikea should pay serious money to stop. What is this? Blackmail?
