Ikon promotes 2 new digital directors
Media agency Ikon Communications has promoted 2 new digital directors in its Sydney office.
The announcement:
Ikon, part of STW Group, has announced two significant promotions in the Sydney business, with Sandra Wee and Dave Thanisch being elevated to the positions of Sydney Digital Directors.
Together Sandra and Dave will work alongside Ikon’s now 10-strong digital director leadership team to bring its client’s brands and stories to life using the array of digital platforms, technologies and tactics that this new era offers marketers.
Ellie Rogers, Ikon’s National Digital Director said: “Our senior digital team is now deeply specialised and highly organised to ensure that between us we have this digital thing covered. I believe that organisations who invest the time, and effort into learning and development in this digital age will see the rewards with creativity and innovation, so Dave’s primary focus will be around developing and delivering education programmes to our people and to our clients.
“Our specialised services of search, mobile, technology, data and social are now headed up by vertical heads with a team of 41 people who focus on these critical opportunities for clients. Sandra will ensure that these services are tailored for each client’s unique needs and integrated appropriately into our wider agency teams,” Rogers continued.
Ikon Sydney started its mainstream digital integration journey four years ago, and has supported its digital growth through rigorous and obsessive training. Dave has worked in digital media for nine years, and with Ikon for 2.5 years, and has been tasked with developing training, knowledge and understanding for Ikon’s teams and clients.
Dave explained: “I believe that a programme of continual learning is the only way to survive and thrive in this digital world, and will continue to develop and deliver on our commitment to offer our teams and clients best in breed training. It’s our job to find what’s next in digital and ensure we deliver this as an agency for our clients.”
Rogers said the company now had deeply specialised mature services across social, search, data, technology and mobile. She said Sandra would focus on being the link between these services and the wider agency to ensure the services are tailored for each client’s needs.
“We no longer live in a world where one marketing solution fits all,” Sandra said. “My role is to ensure that the tinkering and experimentation that happens in our specialist hubs is refined and tailored to address each clients very individual challenges and opportunities. ”
