Ikon Communications’ long-serving national trading director Nicole Turley is joining Starcom MediaVest Group.

Turley, who has spent almost nine years of her career with the STW Group-owned media agency, takes on the role of national investment director at Starcom.

She starts in her new role on 4 March.

Starcom Australia CEO John Sintras told Mumbrella: “We think Nicole is Australia’s top investment talent and we are thrilled that she is joining our team.”

Starcom’s COO Chris Nolan, added: “Investment continues to be a core part of our service offering, and off the back of a very solid year, it’s the ideal time for us to appoint a dedicated national investment leader.”

Starcom reports 13 new business wins and $170m in new billings in 2012, including the Optus, Virgin and Mars/Wrigleys accounts.

Ikon boss Dan Johns said: “Nicole has been a massive part of the Ikon business for a long time and has done a brilliant job leading our dynamic trading product. We are sad to see her go but wish her all the best for her new role and opportunity.”

“We are working through Nicole’s replacement and hope to make an announcement soon; meanwhile the seven trading directors within the Ikon Network will continue to do a brilliant job,” Johns added.

Before joining Ikon in 2004, Turley spent a three-year spell at Seven Network as a sales executive. She also spent a time at Ten.

Turley started at Ikon as a trader on Commonwealth Bank, and has since progressed through the ranks. In 2010 was named ‘Ikonoclast of the year’, an award given to Ikon’s top employees.
