Ten’s I’m A Celebrity beaten by Seven’s My Kitchen Rules and Nine’s Big Bang Theory
Audience numbers for Ten’s I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out of Here! have slipped, with Seven’s My Kitchen Rules and Nine’s The Big Bang Theory both beating the reality show in the 7:30pm time slot.
Seven’s MKR was the most-watched show across the key advertising demographics (16-39, 18-49 and 25-54) with 1.574m metro viewers.
Ten’s I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out of Here! pulled in 710,000 metro viewers while a new episode of US sitcom The Big Bang Theory delivered Nine an audience of 795,000.
I’m A Celebrity was the third most-watched show across the key advertising demographics while Seven’s First Dates, which aired at 9:00pm, was the second most-watched show across the demos.
First Dates had a metro audience of 874,000, helping Seven claim a winning audience share of 27.5%.
Nine came in second with a share of 16.2% as Ten managed third place with a share of 13.2%. The ABC settled for an audience share of 12.2%.
On the ABC, 7.30 Report was watched by 577,000, Julia Zemiro’s Home Delivery (8:00pm) pulled in 637,000 and The Weekly with Charlie Pickering (8:30pm) attracted 577,000 metro viewers.
In the news battleground, Nine News came out on top – with a metro audience of 995,000 at 6:00pm and 1.01m at 6:30pm.
Seven News at 6:00pm was watched by 968,000 – dipping to 920,000 from 6:30pm.

The challenge for IACGMOOH is that unlike other reality shows their contestants don’t build equity and grow. In MKR they become better cooks, in The Voice they become better singers etc but in IACGMOOH they don’t get better at eating rat intestines – it’s just the daily shock value of the food challenges or the stunts, which are already stale.
The value of that show is the insight into the celebrity that you hadn’t seen before but luckily whatever good bit you miss you will pick up the next day on radio or social without having to invest an hour to see the 5 good minutes.
