Dr Mumbo must confess that he hasn’t always been a regular viewer of Ten’s Bolt Report.
So until stumbling upon the right-leaning talkshow today, he had no idea that Andrew Bolt appear to have a catchphrase signoff – “No feeear, nooo favours”. And a signature move, where he twirls his hand as he says his name.
But more curiously yet, the News Corp commentator also appears to have been channeling Austin Powers, with his microphone left on just long enough to catch him say something that sounded very much like “Hello, baby.”

Dr Mumbo concedes it could have been “Hello, Amy”, which also seems an unusual thing to say on TV. And it’d never work as a catchphrase.

You people are deluded if you think AB is right wing. He is a moderate conservative who believes in reasonable and reasoned debate . His words have never had the ring of a right wing nutter. He is professional and keeps all sides of the debate honest . He supports many social agendas our traditional progressives would hold dear. If you actually read what he writes and says you will find an honourable man who defends free speech and deplores hypocrites who would , and do, defend a tribal position rather than the specifics of, or credentials of a particular discussion. You said yourself , you have never watched his show. Open your mind and do yourself a favour. Compared to the ABC he is a beacon of integrity who always gives both and all sides a chance for a say. The ABC however uses Tax payers funds to exclude all conservative , moderate , middle of the road opinions.

‘Inarticulate’ is 100% correct. ‘Right wing’ and ‘conservative’ aren’t the same thing.
And, as old ‘Inny’ says, he actually has lefties on his show (and invites many more who turn him down).
The ABC, which we all pay for, caters for a very specific side of politics. It truly is a national disgrace, but I wouldn’t expect too many on here to (want to) understand that.

I add my support to Inarticulate’s words. Everything he wrote is true, and I’m not being sarcastic. Too many people deal in stereotypes without bothering to find out what a person is really all about. Andrew Bolt is a rational libertarian who puts a great deal of thought into his arguments and it is too simplistic to dismiss him as ‘right wing.’ He is not, he is Conservative.

Andrew Bolt right wing? Maybe by Dutch standards. AB is sympathetic to gay lib priorities – on MTR he made a point of feting a ‘gay publican’ – and he frequently goes wobbly on issues that would be red meat to a right winger. He was even quite well disposed towards Julia Gillard when she first came on the national scene. He’s still making up for his aberration in calling Tony Abbott “pathetically stupid”. If it was an aberration and not just a publicity stunt.
If AB ever appeared on Fox News, it would be as a moderate commentator, if not a liberal. As one of his callers put it on 2GB, in America he’d be a Democrat!

Update, 8.20 p.m., 12 March. AB just cut off a caller who was presenting a well-reasoned analogy between militant Islam and Nazism. The caller was a Christian who had studied the Koran. He pointed out that Islamist theology was much better organised than Nazi ideology ever was and that it had millions more people behind it. At this point AB cut him off in mid-sentence and proclaimed that “we have to have a civil discussion” – implying that the caller’s discussion was not civil – and going on to some anodyne remarks about religions reflecting the personalities of their founders. And this was on a program that began with coverage of Aussie teenager Jake Bilardi, late of Melbourne, becoming an ISIS suicide bomber in Iraq!

Every Sunday I watch the Insiders, then switch over to the Bolt Report just to reassure myself that I am not a “Leftie”
After watching the same old hacks that he has on his show every week I am convinced that any conservatives or for that matter the majority of LNP members would not want to be identified with him, which means of course that they are all “Lefties”
Regular as clockwork he has a failed politician, a girl who looks and sounds as if she will fall asleep any minute, and some journalist who must spend hours to get his messed up hairstyle just right.
But even though they are mirror images of Bolt, they find it difficult to finish a sentence before they are interrupted by Bolt
