Imagination appointed to revamp Sydney New Year’s Eve

Experiential marketing firm Imagination has been named the first agency to handle creative for the upcoming new year’s eve festivities on Sydney Harbour.

The agency has unveiled a new rainbow logo and the tagline ‘Time to dream’ for the 2012 event, which has also revamped its website.

According to Imagination, the violet in the rainbow represents community, peace, social stability and connectedness, blue symbolises the harbour, sky and future aspirations, green for the environment, nurturing and growing, and yellow for optimism, happiness and a sunny attitude.

Designer Marc Newson is artistic director for the event, which a media release from Imagination claims will reach a televised audience of 1.1bn.
