ING calls agency review

ING Direct has announced a review of its agency partnerships across its creative, media and digital channels.

The pitch will be an invitation only,  with all agencies to be in place by early 2012. Currently, the firm’s current agency is ad agency BWM, digital agency The Dubs, media agency Mindshare and brand agency Jack Watts Currie.

The company has used Charles the Orangutan as its mascot since September 2010, which was created by JackWattsCurrie.

  2. Is Charles the Orangutan supposed to make you think of Conan O’brien? Or is it just me? Just me then? Right-o.

  4. Ad some lippy and you’re looking at Pauline Hansen.
‘Charles’ always gave me the creeps. Hey, how about a public vote to see if they should get rid of him!

  12. I thought some of the Charles ads (ok, just this one) were hilarious. Definitely got my attention. I’m sure Billy was too expensive to keep on, although the agencies would have loved all those free trips to Scotland.

  14. When i watch the ads I can only think of David Caruso from CSI Miami? It’s not just the red hair but their tone of voice too! Maybe it is him…
