Initiative chief Camplisson to depart, with Mindshare’s Michael to take over
Initiative chief executive Roger Camplisson is to leave the media agency, with Mindshare Sydney MD Tracie Michael to step into his vacated role.
Camplisson’s departure closely follows the agency’s loss of the Sanitarium business to Mitchell & Partners without a pitch.
Michael has been MD at Mindshare Sydney since the beginning of 2004. Speculation had been building around whether she would stay at Mindshare since James Greet, who will start on June 1, was installed above her as CEO.
Initiative declined to comment and no one was available at Mindshare at the time this article was posted.
One more senior female departs the boys club…go girl!

Great news for Tracie! She’ll certainly kick some goals over at Initiative. Great for her and great for Initiative.
GroupM now finally kicked all the girls out (Parsons, Sagripanti, Michael) to form a pure boys club. Rag and Famish will be delighted.

Yet another example of poor leadership at Mindshare. Across the region now, talented senior people who have helped build Mindshare and helped the agency survive the recession have left in droves. Rank outsiders have been brought in, based on academic theories of leadership.
