Iris Sydney wins tender for Sydney’s City Christmas
Creative agency Iris Sydney has won a tender to make the city an international Christmas destination in three years.
The creative agency will develop and implement a strategy that will include cooperative marketing initiatives, developing new events and using new “cutting edge” technology for the City of Sydney’s City Christmas project.
The agency recently worked on the Christchurch Reimagined campaign.
Their project will go live in November this year.
Simon Porter, Managing Director at Iris Sydney, said: “We are incredibly excited to be involved with one of the world’s great cities and we’re aiming to create a participation platform that puts the City of Sydney on the global map for innovative and spectacular Christmas experiences.
“It’s a huge opportunity and a privilege to be working with all the different stakeholders, from the Lord Mayor’s Office, to leading retailers, hotel groups, restaurateurs and the City Authorities, to create a singular vision that will attract international and domestic visitors, putting the magic back into the Sydney Christmas.”
You can just imagine what a “City of Sydney Christmas” might look like with Clover Moore as Santa.
There’ll be a lesbian-bisexual-gay-transgender-intergender-interspecies choir, singing inclusive, gender-neutral songs to cyclists and the soy-latte set. The only mention of Jesus Christ will be when someone hits their thumb with a hammer.
