iSelect marketing chief David May appointed CEO of Gold Coast Titans
David May, the CMO of iSelect and former marketing chief of JetStar, has been appointed chief executive of NRL club the Gold Coast Titans.
Both iSelect and JetStar are major sponsors of the debt-laden club, and May is tasked with restoring the fortunes of the Titans, which has new financial backers.
An iSelect spokesman said the recruiting process is underway for a replacement for May, who leaves at the end of the month.
“While it was hard to leave an organisation as great as iSelect, when I was approached about this role by the Titans it was too good an opportunity to turn down,’’ said May.
“I’ve been involved with the Titans since 2006 at Jetstar and I really believe in this club and what it stands for. I believe in the local community and the Gold Coast region and I am confident that we can build something wonderful for our community, our staff and our players.“
To a question on whether he’ll also run the marketing operation for the Titans, May told Mumbrella: “Marketing is an area I will naturally be very interested in. One of the attractions of the role is having ultimate responsibility for the brand and its direction.”
Matt McCann, boss of iSelect said: “While we’re certainly sad to see Dave leave iSelect we’re very pleased that he’s moving to an organization with which we share such a close affiliation.”
“Dave’s decision to join the Titans will further cement the strong relationship between iSelect and the Club. I’m really pleased for Dave – he’s always been a passionate supporter of Rugby League and it’s rare in life that you’re able to meld a personal passion with your professional career. I’m looking forward to working with him in his new role as CEO of the Titans.”
May was behind iSelect’s sponsorship ads for the Titans, created by AJF Partnership.

Iselect and the Titans are the best sponsor/club integration in the NRL and possibly aussie sport. I work for neither but love what they’ve done from match day promotions to the excellent TVC. Goooaaaal!!!
