Isobar partner with Save the Children to promote Do Nothing campaign

Save the Children is urging Australians to give up something small for Syrian children as part of the ‘Do Nothing’ campaign.

The campaign, designed by Isobar Melbourne, challenges Australians to make a small sacrifice such as giving up takeaway coffee for a week, and donating the savings to Save the Children to protect and save the lives of Syrian children impacted by the civil war.

The TV commercial pans across an empty schoolroom, with narration explaining Syrian children are afraid to go to school because over 2,000 Syrian schools have been bombed. It then shows the same school room which has been destroyed and vandalised.

Save the Children’s marketing and direct channels manager, Cameron McPherson said in a statement: “We’re asking everyone to give up something small and donate the savings, which will make a huge difference for Syrian families and children.

“Giving up $100 or staying in for a night is enough to provide three sets of children’s winter clothes while $16 or not buying take away coffee for a week could give safe drinking water to 800 people for one day. Doing nothing is such a simple way to make a massive difference in the biggest humanitarian crisis of our generation.”

The commercial is complemented by outdoor advertising, social media and a website.

Funds raised through the campaign will help Save the Children run education and emotional support programs, provide polio and other vaccinations and give out warm blankets and daily food rations in Syria.
