James Wright has been handed another senior position in the Havas Australia group adding oversight of creative agency Arnold Furnace to his expanding remit in the new role of group managing director.

Last year Wright, who was previously head of the group’s PR agency The Red Agency, was handed responsibility for the Melbourne operations of the Havas Worldwide creative agency and Havas People.

As part of the changes The Red Agency has appointed Aaron Crowther from Spectrum Communications where he was group business director as its new general manager.

Anthony Gregorio, who remains overall head of the group as Havas Worldwide CEO, said: “James is a proven agency leader who has continually delivered above and beyond with his agencies. He has been a key player in the Group’s success and what he has done with Red Agency in such a short time has been incredible.

“We are already seeing great progress at Havas People and in Melbourne and by adding Arnold Furnace to his portfolio we have a great opportunity to further develop an agency with a proud history.”

Arnold Furnace has clients including Jack Daniel’s, P&G and Warner Brothers. The new role will see Wright assume Gregorio’s responsibilities over the business.

He said in a statement: “I am excited by the challenge of my new role to drive forward with our strategy of fostering greater collaboration across the Havas Village between advertising, PR, digital and media.

“PR is a crucial component and in Aaron we have hired someone hungry to continue to develop Red Agency with me and work with our Havas teams across the Group to make exciting and memorable work.”

Wright was named PR Leader of the Year at last year’s CommsCon Awards, whilst Red Agency took out the coveted Agency of the Year title.
