Position title : Marketing Coordinator

Reports to : Marketing Manager

Job overview
The Marketing Coordinator is responsible for devising and implementing innovative and effective sales and marketing campaigns for Sydney Theatre Company (STC) productions and events. Working closely with the Marketing Manager and the other members of the marketing, media, customer service and sponsorship teams, this role will maximise revenue from ticket sales, promote the various STC and ST brands, forge partnerships with Sydney’s cultural and marketing communities, and provide marketing support to touring venues and Sydney Theatre hirers.

Key Responsibilities:

In close collaboration with the Marketing Manager:
• To develop strategies and implement marketing campaigns for Sydney Theatre Company productions and events, including the production and distribution of print and digital marketing collateral, booking and delivery of advertising and the creation of sales promotions and targeted niche marketing activity
•To execute promotional material for STC productions and projects covering all aspects including timelines, provision of briefs, logos, mastheads, promotional copy, images, captions, copyright or owner permissions and deadlines
•To plan, draft, build, manage approvals and schedule regular enews and EDMs to deadline
•To monitor and report on the STC marketing budgets for all productions
•To provide marketing support for venues receiving STC touring productions, and productions hiring the Sydney Theatre
•To liaise with Sydney Opera House marketing regarding their support of STC productions in the Drama Theatre
•To develop and maintain ongoing relationships with internal and external stakeholders such as suppliers, touring venues, co-producers and outside hirers
•To liaise with the STC’s Corporate Partnerships team, the creative team and other relevant individuals and departments to ensure appropriate approvals for advertising collateral
•To proof read print material and write marketing copy as required
•To liaise with the Digital Marketing Specialist, Content Manager and Marketing Assistant to ensure all online activity, digital marketing and online content are integrated to the core production sales campaigns
•To traffic manage campaign design tasks flowing through the in-house Design studio
•To utilise the STC’s CRM database to ensure maximisation of existing customers and their sales history in ongoing marketing campaigns, running lists and extractions as required, in consultation with the Marketing Manager and the Data Analyst
•To contribute to and implement elements of the Company-wide CRM and loyalty plans
•To work with the Marketing Manager and Data Analyst to develop best practice in post-campaign reporting
•To contribute to departmental and team goals and carry out other duties as required

•cooperates with Sydney Theatre Company in their efforts to comply with occupational health and safety requirements.

Capabilities and competencies

•Proven ability to devise and implement robust marketing strategies which maximise revenue and reinforce brand
•Demonstrable experience in arts marketing or event management
•Excellent interpersonal and communication skills including the ability to deal with a wide variety of stakeholders
•Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects, liaising with suppliers, internal and external contacts and meeting deadlines
•A developed sense of professionalism and confidence suitable for developing good working relationships within the Company and the arts industry
•Ability to maximise budgets and negotiate favourable rates and in-kind support
•A passion for the arts and willingness to work flexible hours
•Strong computer skills including the ability to learn web content management and CRM systems (Tessitura knowledge favourable)

1. Hours of Work

The position is for an initial two year fixed term contract.
The usual hours of work are 9am-5pm Monday to Friday. However, the requirements of this position require a degree of flexibility. You may be expected to work additional hours to meet our changing business needs and the demands of your role.
The position is based at The Wharf, Sydney Theatre Company, Pier 4 Hickson Road, Walsh Bay.

2. Salary and Entitlements

• Salary is dependent on skills and experience
• 4 weeks annual leave
• 10% superannuation
• Complimentary tickets to STC productions subject to availability
