Technical Lead / Senior Developer

The primary role of the Tech Lead / Development Manager is to lead the internal technical team on a variety of projects, including, but not limited to, corporate and e-commerce websites, campaign micro sites, Facebook apps, mobile web Apps, EDMs, conversion optimisation, Search Engine Optimisation and other digital and Social Media campaigns.
Together with technical leadership, the Development Manager will also act as a Full Cycle Project Manager for some activities, owning and driving particular projects from scoping and strategy through to delivery, including directly dealing with external clients.
Your Role:
Responsible for day-to-day IT team management and project management.
Co-ordinating tasks and deadlines: working with account managers, web developers, designers and copywriters to ensure deliverables are completed on time, on brief and to high quality standards.
Providing technical assistance to other developers, including writing high quality and standards compliance coding, testing, debugging and troubleshooting.
Managing, mentoring and coaching other developers.
Contributing to strategy and architecture of new projects. Involvement on planning meetings together with strategists, creative and account managers.
Documenting, scoping, pricing and developing timelines for technical execution of internal and external projects.
Producing user flow documentation, wireframes, page structure documents, sitemaps and design sketches to guide client discussions and internal execution.
Developing and maintaining strong relationships with key internal and external stakeholders, and 3rd party suppliers and outsourced resources.
Required Competences
5+ years web experience, ideally but not necessarily as a web developer.
Strong technical understanding of website development, mainstream CMS, including Drupal and WordPress, Facebook Apps dev and API, EDM dev.
Leadership and people management skills
Proven record of full cycle project management, including:
Scoping & costing
Architecture planning
Cost-benefit analysis
Managing deliverables and deadlines
Quality assurance
Complimentary Skills
Agile experience and certification.
PHP & LAMP Stack experience, including server management. CodeIgniter, cloud based systems (Amazon), CSS/ Java script, MYSQL and MVC Principles.
Mobile development.
Search Engine Optimisation (SEO).
A strong analytical mind focused on measuring outcomes, tracking conversion and crunching traffic data is a plus.
