Journey to the centre of the Herald Sun’s imagination
The Herald Sun had a memorable front page today, even if it doesn’t quite seem to understand what happened in the Chilean mine rescue.
The diameter of the Earth is more than 12000 kilometres. The miners were 600 metres down. Dramatic as the rescue was, they weren’t at the centre of the earth.
Comeon Tim… semantics there. Its just a tagline…

They should be more literal. Think about the children!

I’m with Tim here- sometimes you have to pinch yourself to make sure you’re not dreaming some of the content.. the other day there was a story about the Herald Sun being up for various journalism awards and it said:
“Padraic Murphy has been named among three of Australia’s most talented writers for his story that revealed Victoria Police was paying school fees for the daughter of gangland killer Carl Williams. The story ran on the day that Williams was murdered in prison.”

Surely it’s a reference to the old movie/TV show – ‘Journey to The Center of the Earth?

Maybe they were watching the ABC1 Vic news; I could have sworn the newsreader said “620 kilometres”.
