SYDNEY, 3 August 2012: Entries to the 2012 Media Federation Awards, submitted online for the first time, have now closed.
A strong number of entries was received in all categories, with Best Integrated Media Campaign and Best Use of a Small Budget shaping up to be the most hotly contested.
The NGen Award, which this year requires young media professionals to respond to a brief for Youngcare, attracted 89 entries. This is the fifth year since the introduction of the NGen Award.
The first stage of the judging will also be conducted online, with all 140 judges then convening in Sydney on 16 August and Melbourne on 20 August for a final discussion and confirmation of the category winners. The MFA Awards Committee will choose the Grand Prix winner from among the category winners.
“The digital submission process has been a success in its first year, and we believe the first phase of digital judging followed by a face-to-face discussion will further reinforce the rigorous process of the MFA Awards program,” said MFA Awards Chairman Brett Dawson, who is also Managing Partner of Bohemia.
“The purpose of the MFA Awards is to find, celebrate and showcase the finest work our industry has produced – work that commands the powerful energies of creativity and science to deliver significant returns on clients’ investments,” Dawson added. “It is this unique mix of art and science, with technology and data as the new enabler of both, that powers the growing influence the media industry has on the Australian communication landscape.”
The winners of the 14th annual MFA Awards will be announced at an awards presentation in Sydney on 27 September.
