Jungleboys bring the Moodys back

The ABC has commissioned a sequel to A Moody Christmas – The Moodys.

The Jungleboys created the series that ran from October to December last year. The second season will run for eight episodes on the ABC.

The first series’ key creative team are back on board, including Trent O’Donnell, Phil Lloyd and executive producer, Jason Burrows.

While the name or release date of the series hasn’t been released yet, scripting has started and production will start in Sydney later this year.

Jason Burrows said: “The feedback we’ve had on Moody has been amazing, and everyone is really excited about the second series. Moving outside of the Christmas theme will give Trent and Phil a lot more scope to explore the dysfunctionality of the family, but again it will have a lot of heart.”

A Moody Christmas featured an award-winning ensemble cast including Patrick Brammall, who won the AACTA award for Best Comedy Performance in 2012 for his role as Sean Moody, Ian Meadows, Jane Harber, Danny Adcock, Tina Bursill, Phil Lloyd, Guy Edmonds, Rachel Gordon, Robina Beard and Darren Gilshenan.
