Jungleboys launches comedy site

Sydney ad agency Jungleboys has launched an online comedy channel.

The website – called jungleboys.tv – features the work of Trent O’Donnell, the director behind The Chaser’s War on Everything, Laid and the upcoming Woodley for ABC TV and Phil Lloyd, who starred in and co-wrote ABC TV’s ‘At Home with Julia’.

The site was set up as platform to ‘experiment with new material that doesn’t fit with their current slate of TV work and that is free from network approval’, according to a press release from the agency.

One of site’s first comedy sketches is a tribute to the first ever tweets.

Jungleboys has experience in comedy production, having sold the comedy show Review with Forrest McNeil to Comedy Channel in the US. The agency was also behind the upcoming ABC TV comedy, This Christmas.

Jungleboys.tv is holding a sketch competition – the funniest entry will be produced and screened on the site.

“We feel that there is a lot of undiscovered and really funny talent out there who aren’t in the industry and we’re keen to provide an accessible outlet”, said executive producer Jason Burrows.
