Lego gets new chief marketer with promotion of sales boss
The Lego Group has promoted head of sales Troy Taylor to the role of head of marketing for the brand’s operations in Australia and New Zealand.
Taylor replaces Caroline Squire who moved to natural skin care brand Jurlique in January in the role of marketing manager of Australia and Europe.
Glenn Abell, general manager for Lego Australia and New Zealand, announced the promotion today saying: “Troy brings with him tremendous strategic, commercial and leadership capabilities while also having a deep knowledge of the Lego Brand and products.
“In his new role, Troy will drive the marketing strategy for Lego Australia and New Zealand which includes a stronger focus on marketing effectiveness, shopper insight driven retail activation, next generation e-commerce methodology, active share focus and overall organisational health in the marketing department.”
Taylor has been with The Lego Group for 12 years and has held other roles in field sales and account management and has also worked in the United States for a number of years in the role of customer development director.
In 2012, Taylor returned to Australia and as the head of sales where he led a team of 26 people. In his new role he will oversee a marketing team of ten.
Lego’s agencies include UM who were reappointed in January this year, while Airborne is their creative agency and One Green Bean is their public relations agency.
