Libby Stone joins Nine News Perth

Libby Stones has joined Nine News Perth this week as co-anchor with Tim McMillan presenting the week night 6pm bulletin.

Libby Stone joins Nine News Perth from next Monday, April 21, as co-anchor with Tim McMillan presenting the week night 6.00pm bulletin.

Nine Perth Managing Director, David Mott, said he was delighted to welcome Stone to Nine News.

“Libby is a highly respected journalist who will add further depth to our talented Nine News team,” Mr Mott said. “In recent weeks we’ve introduced a one-hour bulletin which has increased our audience by 7.5 per cent year-on-year.”

Stone said she was thrilled to be given such a wonderful opportunity in her home state.

“It’s a privilege to join Tim and the Nine News Perth team and we are committed to delivering the most comprehensive news service in WA,” she said.

Born in Mandurah, Western Australia, Stone returns to Perth from Nine News Brisbane where she has worked since 2010.

Her love of the media began as a child when she started writing newspaper reports and creating radio programs using a cassette player.

Stone has a mass communications degree from Curtin University and did a post-graduate course in broadcasting at WAAPA (Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts).

She moved to Queensland in 2007 to pursue a career in television and radio, reading the news for Sea FM and Gold FM on the Gold Coast. In December 2010 she moved to Nine News Brisbane.
