Awkward dance moves by ‘celebs’ and bad pop music… the Logies are awesome!

So instead of bringing out your block buster song, perform your half-baked new one… That’ll get em jumping in the aisles! #shootmenow

The previous comment is not me even though it says “georgie”. I am georgie!
Surprised Scott can won. Was there a host? I was confused. Why did everyone think they had to do a. “Bit” before presenting an award? Someone should have decided who does the comedy via it seemed everyone wanted to be a comedian . Recording on foxtel while watching enabled me to fast forward on the Long speeches and nominations. Quite enjoyed the logies in that way!

Yes. and the whole thing has become just a little too self conscious and plastic and mini academy awards.
Perhaps its time to rethink the whole glitz and glamour thing in favour of an Australian television award show. I often think of something Johnny Carson said regarding the fictionalised Mary Tyler Moore, Donny and Marie Osmond, institute where according to the joke, studies were held to discover if excessive smiling could cause cancer in laboratory rats.
In fact, television is on the decline, so it follows that the awards programmes associated would also decline in popularity, but boredom can be a factor and fake shows or even suspected ones can cause anti feeling.
Theatre needs not only new blood, it also needs new and supportive ideas.

My partner commented to me last night “Remember when we used to watch the Logies?” I couldn’t remember – last time it was boring, boring, boring so this time it would have been boring, boring, boring, boring (ad nauseum).

Another point re the ratings: I cannot believe that the advertorial stations get 3.9s etc – are we a nation of masochists? Come on, nearly 40% of ABC1s share? There are only two words to describe these figures and the second one is shit!

There is only one thing worse than watching the Logies and that is being there! It is sad.
