Mack Boots launches sexy puppy workout video
Safety boots maker Mack Boots has released a cleavage-tastic online video featuring model and activist Renee Somerfield working out while the brand’s mascot, a bulldog puppy, watches.
The video, which briefly shows a pair of Mack Boots amid footage of the nodding puppy and an exercising Somerfield, has been watched almost 20,000 times since being uploaded to YouTube on Friday.
There are no plans to run the 36-second video, which has been posted on Mack Boot’s Facebook page, on television yet.
The agency behind the video was Incremental Marketing Group. The video was shot by Vital Signs.
Poor Mack Boots, they have some questions to ask Incremental Marketing Group.
Their Facebook Page has got 40,000 likes from other countries. The most popular San Jose, Costa Rica. This is meant to be an Australian brand. All the comments on there page are in spanish. http://www.facebook.com/MackBoots/likes
They have also got quationable views for the video. For a video with 20,000 views you would usually see at least 50 comments and 200+ likes/dislikes, on their video there is 0 comments and 14 likes.

Too bad all those YouTube views and Facebook page likes, are paid for and funny enough located in San Jose Costa Rica. What a weird market they have attracted there :S

Hmmm…I suppose it would work for the target market but not sure of the strategy…if there was any.

The Sexy Puppy Workout video is one component of the campaign to generate traffic to the Mack Boots website.
To test the website and the fulfillment process we created a recent Facebook campaign “10 Boots in 10 Countries in 10 Days” and this proved very successful in Costa Rica as well as a number of other countries.
The Sexy Puppy Workout video was also promoted with a targeted YouTube advertising campaign.
We are very excited about the YouTube views, over 20,000 in three days.

I doubt they would’ve brought fake likes
This is what happens when you do a Promoted Post on Facebook. There are many reasons why it happens, but the essentially is because Facebook puts Promoted Posts infront of the people most likely to click ie fake accounts and spam bots.
There is away around it, and any social agency worth it’s weight should know it, and would not be recommending Promoted Posts without implementing this work around.

@ strange – good question! Incredible the places people go when they lack strategy, a creative idea and clearly a reason for customers to buy. Finally, what was she thinking?!!

Oh.. I should add to my post that I believe these a fake accounts interacting with this page because, 1. Currently the fake accounts seem to be centred around accounts based Central American countries. 2. If you read the comments they have nothing to do with the video.
This just applies to the Facebook page. The YouTube views are likely legit

Yep, not sure what the strategy was there. A real head shaker.

Looks legit to me. Old tactic using hot ladies to sell stuff. But this one is pretty good…
