Radio ratings: Perth – Dead heat for 96FM and Mix 94.5

Perth commercial radio stations 96FM and Mix94.5 has tied with a 12.1 per cent audience share each, while the ABC’s youth channel Triple J moved to the top in the latest radio ratings.

According to the Nielsen radio ratings, Triple J has the largest audience share in the Perth radio market rising 2.2 per cent in the fifth survey of the year to pull 13 per cent.

The result saw 96FM and Mix94.5 tied, followed by Nova 93.7 on 11.3 per cent. Talk back station 6PR remained stable on 8.2 per cent. 

In breakfast ABC720, hosted by Eoin Cameron, retained its lead rising 1.7 points to 14.6 per cent while Nova 93.7 breakfast, hosted by Nathan Morris, Natalie Locke and Shaun McManus, was on 12.5 per cent. 96FM fell 1.6 ratings points to 10.1 per cent.

In drivetime, Nova’s national show, featuring Meshel Laurie, Tim Blackwell and Marty Sheargold, had the highest commercial share with 12.5 per cent.

Triple J’s performance was boosted by an across the board jump in audience, particularly in the drive, evenings and weekends shifts.
