Marin Software opens next instalment of Biggest Social Geek competition

After an Australian came third last year the local arm of Marin Software is hoping for a winner from down under for the latest instalment of its annual Search Geek competition.

The release:

Marin Software, provider of a leading cross-channel performance advertising cloud, and Marketing Land, leading source for digital marketing news and producer of the SocialPro conference, this week launched the second annual Biggest Social Geek Contest.

Biggest Social Geek is a quiz-based contest that challenges the world’s best and brightest digital marketers to a series of questions on a variety of social advertising topics. More than 2,300 social marketers across the globe competed in last year’s inaugural contest, which took place in September 2014.

Last year’s grand prize winner was Paul Zubrinich of Germany, who scored 95% of the quiz questions correctly in less than 5-and-a-half minutes. Regional winners were Judah Schiff of the United States, Andreea Milea of Germany, and Rich McPharlin of Australia. “I’m again really proud and excited to take first place in Australia against thousands of other impressive digital marketers,” said Rich.

The 2015 contest is open to contestants in the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, France, Germany and Australia and will run to October 30, 2015 at 11:59pm Pacific. The contest rules can be found at http://www.biggestsocialgeek.com/rules.

The contestant with the highest score in the shortest amount of time will win the grand prize — a flight and hotel accommodations for two to SocialPro, the leading social media marketing conference and networking platform for the marketing-savvy professional. SocialPro will take place in Las Vegas, Nevada on November 18-19, 2015. The winner will also be presented with an award on stage during SocialPro, and will also receive their choice of an Apple iPad Mini, Sony PlayStation 4, or an Xbox One.

Regional winners will receive their choice between an iPad Mini, PlayStation 4, or an Xbox One. The top fifty finishers will receive a free t-shirt, a listing on Marin Software’s website, and a Biggest Social Geek badge to display on their website.
