Mashable Australia appoints SBS’ Jerico Mandybur as country editor

Mashable Australia has appointed Jerico Mandybur as its new Australia editor, replacing Jen Ryall who has relocated to New York to take on the role of real-time editor with the publication.

Mandybur joins Mashable from SBS’s NITV, a media outlet for Indigenous peoples

Mandybur joins Mashable from SBS’s NITV, a media outlet for Indigenous peoples, where she has been for less than a year. Previous to SBS Mandybur worked at Asos.com as editorial lead. Prior to Asos, Mandybur was the online editor and contributing print editor of Oyster Magazine.

Said Mashable chief content officer, Gregory Gittrich, in a statement: “We are thrilled to have Jerico joining us as Australia Editor. Jerico has an amazing wealth of experience growing digital brands in Australia and we’re excited to watch her take Mashable to the next level in the region.

“Her experience leading editorial operations in the digital culture space along with her understanding of internet trends and social issues are a perfect fit for our audience. It’s an exciting time for Mashable Australia.”

Mandybur will report to Mashable deputy managing editor, Kate Sommers-Dawes, who is located in San Francisco. She starts immediately.
