Media jobs market begins to pick up

Advertising and media job vacancies have picked up since last month but there are still only half as many as there were at the same time last year, according to a survey of the industry.

According to jobs firm Olivier, there were 9.6% more advertising and media jobs advertised online during August than July. However, they were still 50.3% down on the same month a year ago.

Of the 16 sectors that Olivier monitors, advertising and media was second only to transport (up 19.2%)  in terms of month-on-month improvement.

Meanwhile, in the annual comparisons, admin was the worst off sector (down 65% on a year before) while healthcare was best off (down 17%).

  4. That is great news for all concerned.

Now where is David Jackson of S2M fame to tell us the rise in jobs is all because of his personal efforts in restructuring the global economy? Or is he too busy providing light and warmth to the grateful masses by pointing his rear end in their general direction..?
