Mediacom finance director David Reid departs
Australia’s second largest media agency Mediacom has seen another shake up in its leadership with finance director David Reid departing the agency.
Reid is a Mediacom veteran whose departure comes just weeks after the departures of Sydney managing director Geoff Clarke and head of insights at Mediacom David Templeman.
“I want to congratulate him on eight years of hard work at Mediacom he has done a wonderful job and we wish him all the best,” Mark Pejic CEO of Mediacom told Mumbrella.
The changes come just months after Mediacom faced a major controversy over misreporting of audiences and admitted to having overcharged a small number of clients for “value bank” inventory.
Pejic insisted that Reid resigned for personal reasons and the departure was not related to recent events. Comment has also been sought from Reid.
Reid was with the agency since 2008. He was previously finance manager at healthcare communications firm Sudler & Hennessey.
As Mumbrella reported, in May the agency has recently seen a major management shake up with Clarke and Templeman resigning, while Katy Websdell, general manager and client lead on its biggest client Westpac, has been named as managing director of sister agency Maxus Sydney.
Asked whether there were further management changes to come, Pejic referred questions to outgoing GroupM chairman John Steedman who told Mumbrella he would not be in a position to comment until tomorrow.

Lots of changes happening at GroupM

Pity about David Reid. Worked with him on several occasions and he was quite a straight shooter. Helped us resolve several challenges within a very short space of time.
