Mediacom hires Nic Hodges as head of innovation and technology

Nic Hodges Mediacom mumbrellaMediaCom has continued the re-engineering of its senior lineup with the appointment of Nic Hodges – digital creative director at Clemenger BBDO – in the new role of head of innovation and technology.

Hodges – who writes the Uneven Distribution blog – has also previously worked at digital agencies Sputnik and NetX and at M&C Saatchi.

A think piece by Hodges on the role of brands in social media recently won him a trip to the  International Advertising Association’s World Congress in Moscow.

Mediacom CEO Toby Jenner said: “Whilst most agencies are wrestling with how they integrate their digital offer we have already done this, we are now working with clients to see how technology can play a more central role in delivering innovative communication solutions, Nic is the perfect person to lead this. We are delighted that he has chosen to further develop his career at Mediacom, he’s a great talent.”

Hodges, who joins on May 26, said: “The whole marketing landscape is in a massive state of flux right now. The traditional creative and media split is disappearing, and truly great ideas and innovative thinking can come from anywhere. I’m thrilled to be part of the Mediacom team.”

Jenner recently talked about his shake-up of the agency on The Mumbo Report:

Mediacom has been through wholesale change with the departure of former boss Anne Parsons, the arrival of former Naked managing partner Mat Baxter, the restructure of its trading department, an increased focus on planning rather than buying, and the creation of a brand entertainment division.
