Medibank creative review puts Patts Melbourne on alert

Medibank is reviewing its ad agency relationships, placing pressure on incumbent GPY&R Melbourne.

The company said that a shortlist had been drawn up, but would not disclose the participating agencies. Victoria Hanlon, media advisor to Medibank, told Mumbrella that the pitch was a “best practice review of suppliers”.

Patts confirmed that it would be defending the business.

A statement from Medibank, read:

Following a highly beneficial three year relationship with their current creative advertising agency, Medibank Private Health Insurance Division is reviewing its arrangements. In today’s rapidly changing communications landscape, they want to ensure that they are best equipped to address the company’s growing product range and long term vision. A shortlist has been decided and an announcement is expected in early 2012.
